Privacy model

Your voice is not a product.

Dictovo is designed for people and companies who cannot treat voice data as disposable cloud traffic. In the current Mac app, your speech and dictated text never leave your Mac. Language files come in; your content does not go out.

Local by default

Audio is recorded in memory, transcribed locally on Apple Silicon, and discarded. There is no telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting in the Mac app.

Offline after setup

After the first language download, dictation keeps working offline. Extra world languages download local language files once when you choose them.

User-owned data

Transcripts, dictionary entries, and history stay local to the user or business. Optional license checks do not include audio or dictated text.

Built for privacy-sensitive work, not casual cloud traffic.

Dictovo is designed with NIS2, ISO 27001 and EU Cyber Resilience Act principles in mind: local processing, minimal data sharing, controlled updates, license visibility, and user-owned data. This is not a certification claim; it is the product direction behind the architecture.

Dictovo sits in the background and types into the app you are already using. Email, ChatGPT, Notion, Slack, Word, browser fields: Dictovo inserts text. Optional local text tools can clean up, translate, or transform selected text when you explicitly trigger them; Dictovo does not click, send, or navigate for you.

The current Mac build adds cryptographically checked auto-updates, license-aware update rules, a first-run permission guide, and business-ready security documentation while keeping speech and dictated text fully local.

Does Dictovo send audio to the cloud?

No. In the current Mac app, speech and dictated text stay on the Mac. Network traffic is limited to one-time language downloads and an optional license check that does not include content.

Is Dictovo only for Mac?

The first release is for MacBooks and macOS. Windows is planned next, with iOS and Android after the desktop product is stable.

Which languages are supported?

The current Mac build supports 37 local languages. Common European languages work locally after setup; extra world languages can be enabled with a one-time local language download.

Does Dictovo execute commands?

Dictovo does not click, send, browse, or run workflows for you. The core is local voice-to-text. Optional local modes can clean up, translate, or transform selected text only when you explicitly trigger them.

Can businesses use it?

Yes. It is especially useful for teams that write a lot: client emails, CRM notes, prompts, meeting notes, support replies and internal updates. The benefit is faster input with less cloud exposure.
